Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini feels that while it is unfortunate that the Nerazzurri have been unable to complete a deal to sign Torino defender, they will find a player who can nevertheless add quality to their defense.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, Mandorlini suggested that a suitable player can be brought in to improve the team even though the Brazilian has gone to Juventus.

Inter’s pursuit of Bremer ended in heartbreak when the Bianconeri gatecrashed in the decisive days, making a better offer to Torino for the 25-year-old who they have brought in as their replacement for Matthijs de Ligt following the Dutchman’s transfer to Bayern Munich.

However, the Nerazzurri could still look to make a signing that reinforces the backline, and Mandorlini believes that there are players out there who would certainly be up to the task.

Of Bremer, he said that “He’s a good player, everyone was very enticed by him and it’s a disappointment to see him at Juventus, but there’s no disappointment because a suitable alternative will be found.”

“I don’t think it shifts the balance too much,” he added, “Inter will find another profile for that kind of signing.”

Of Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic and Atalanta’s Merih Demiral, he said that “I like them, they’ve shown quality.”

“Inzaghi will continue to work with the players he has available and will wait for the right reinforcements, trusting in the club,” he added. “Inter will have the economic strength to find the right player.”

He added that “The team is already strong with the arrival of Lukaku and young players like Asllani. The transfer window  still has a long way to go, there’s still so much that can happen, but with Skriniar staying I’d be happy in their shoes.”
