Inter are thinking about a player exchange with Atalanta involving wingback Valentino Lazaro and La Dea defender Berat Djimsiti.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that the Nerazzurri could offer Lazaro in order to land Djimsiti who would be seen as an available option to reinforce their backline without excessive spending.

Inter are still looking to sign a defender after missing out on Torino’s Bremer to Juventus, but the plan is no longer to sign a top-quality player to strengthen the first-choice back three.

Rather, the aim is to add depth to the defensive options given that the experienced Andrea Ranocchia left on a free transfer earlier this summer.

Djimsiti is one player on the Nerazzurri’s list, and given that Atalanta have also identified Lazaro as a possible target for the upcoming season, it is possible that a swap deal could be worked out for the two players.
