Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in signing Inter defender Milan Skriniar has cooled as they have turned their attention to signing RB Leipzig’s Nordi Mukiele.

This according to French news outlet L’Equipe, who report that the French champions are now considering Mukiele their main target in defense and are all but out of the race for Skriniar.

PSG have been pursuing Skriniar for well over a month, but the talks have slowed to a crawl as the Parisians have shown a reluctance to meet the Nerazzurri’s high asking price.

The latest offer from the Parisians came in a couple of weeks ago, and now they have decided to make Mukiele the main target instead.

The 24-year-old Frenchman is liked by PSG coach Christophe Galtier because of his versatility, and the fact that his contract with Leipzig is set to expire at the end of June 2023 means that he could be signed for around €10 million.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are closing in on PSG target Jules Kounde, which also means that they are unlikely to sign Presnel Kimpembe who should instead stay in Paris.
