Inter defender Raoul Bellanova has said that he wants to be ready every time Simone Inzaghi calls upon him, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview, reported by FCInternews, the former Cagliari defender was asked how he wants to prove that he is important for Inter.

He explained that he wants to show it through training well and always being ready when called into action.

“Through training, which I think is the basis, and then making sure I’m ready whenever the coach calls me into action.”

When asked what defender he takes inspiration from, he chose two different Manchester City players.

“My favourite player, as a full-back, is Joao Cancelo. But the player I see myself in the most is Kyle Walker.”

Raoul Bellanova joined recently from Cagliari after they were relegated to Serie B. He will be able to provide depth in both wingback positions for Simone Inzaghi.

He talked about who he bonded with the most when he first joined and he picked out four different Italian players.

“From day one there was Eddie Salcedo and Pinamonti with whom I did several years on the national team, so I already have a great relationship with them.

“But there are other players I already have a close relationship with and they are Darmian and D’Ambrosio, who are two great people as well as great players.”

There is a lot of competition for places at wingback for the Inter players to address this season.
