Inter wingback Dalbert underwent surgery yesterday but he is not likely to be able to leave until January at the earliest, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, Dalbert had successful surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament injury yesterday that he picked up whilst training individually in his home country of Brazil.

He was expected to be sold by Inter this summer as he has just one year left on his deal and he has spent the last three seasons on loan at other teams.

The injury and the surgery rule out the possibility of him being sold this summer which means that Inter must keep paying his wages.

Between amortisation and the gross salary, he will cost the Nerazzurri €8 million over the next season. He will have to stay at the club until at least January when he may have some fitness back.
