Inter’s desire to sign at least one of Merih Demiral and Nikola Milenkovic is increasing as they seek defensive depth, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Nerazzurri know that they cannot go into the new campaign with the number of central defenders that they currently have.

Now that it seems likely Milan Skriniar will be staying at the club, the priority has become signing players who can rotate with the three starters without the quality dropping drastically.

Inter have been keen on Atalanta’s Merih Demiral for some time and the key to signing him would be involving Andrea Pinamonti in the deal as they both have similar valuations of around €20 million.

There has also been new contacts for Nikola Milenkovic who would cost about €15 million but there is more competition for him from Juventus. Contacts have increased with the Serbian’s agents.
