Lorenzo Pirola is set to sign a new contract with Inter before he completes his move to Salernitana on loan, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As has been reported by Sky Sport in Italy, via FCInternews, the young defender is going to commit his future to Inter before he makes the move south to Salerno.

He will extend his contract with the Nerazzurri to 2027 and then head for a season on loan at Salernitana who narrowly avoided the drop to Serie B last season.

The Granata do actually have an option to make the deal permanent next summer for an agreed fee and in that eventuality, Inter will have a buy-back clause for Lorenzo Pirola.

The extension is presumably being put in place so that if Inter want to keep him after the loan spell, there is already a contract in place for the former Monza man.
