An agreement was in place for Dalbert to join Nice from Inter before he suffered his anterior cruciate ligament injury, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport today, the Brazilian wingback has had a terrible run of luck this summer and now it has emerged that he would have been leaving Inter this summer on a permanent deal.

He has spent three seasons away from Inter on loan and was destined to leave this summer with one year left on his contract. He then suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury which has required surgery and will keep him out of action for months.

He was actually supposed to join Ligue 1 side Nice for an agreed fee of €4 million but that move has fallen through because they understandably do not want to pay for a player who is set to be on the sidelines for months.
