Former AC Milan, Juventus, Real Madrid, and England head coach Fabio Capello believes that Inter are still the favourites to win the Serie A title.
Speaking to Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, Capello named the Nerazzurri as the front-runners for the Scudetto and also gave his thoughts on striker Romelu Lukaku.
Inter missed out on the Serie A title by just two points last season, having won it the season before that and missed out by a similarly narrow margin two seasons ago.
The Nerazzurri will feel that they have established themselves as one of the leading candidates for the title based on these recent seasons, while AC Milan will go into the campaign confident after their title win last time around and teams like Juventus, Napoli, and Atalanta will also back themselves.
For Capello, it is still Inter who are the favourites, with the former coach stating that “Certainly, they’re still the favourites.”
He also spoke about Lukaku, stating that “Lukaku can play in space, he’s strong and fast, if he were to have the technique of Dybala he would be a monstrous player.”
