Former Inter defender Lorenzo Moretti has said that he is happy Inter have a buy-back clause for him and that Milan Skriniar is his idol, according to a report in the Italian media.

Speaking during the press conference where he was unveiled as a new Avellino player on a permanent deal, via FCInter1908, Lorenzo Moretti discussed his feelings around the move.

He was on loan at FC Pistoiese last season and he made 34 appearances for them at the back. Now he has completed a permanent move to Serie C side Avellino.

He talked about how the project immediately appealed to him and he will be able to play the same role as the one he played for Inter Primavera and Pistoiese.

“As soon as my prosecutor told me about the possibility of coming to Avellino, I immediately accepted. It is a warm and ambitious place, which can make me grow. In dead-ball situations, especially on corner kicks, I push forward and try to score goals.

“In the three-man defence I can play both right wing, which I did at Pistoia and in the Primavera of Inter and it’s the role I prefer, and left-wing and centre. I adapt to everything, even playing fifth. For me the important thing is to play.”

He also talked about the players that have come through at the club and his happiness that he could rejoin Inter at a later date.

“I don’t deny that the aspect that greatly influenced my arrival at Avellino, apart from the blazon of the square, is the fact that the director De Vito has always launched great players, such as Izzo, Biraschi, Zappacosta, Djimsiti and many others.

“The director wanted me a lot and that is what pushed me to come here. This is the right place to make the leap, the director has always been very good with young people.

“I am happy that Inter have put in the buy-back, but what interests me is to do well with Avellino, to improve every day in order to make the leap in category and quality both personally and as a team.”

He picked out Milan Skriniar as his idol, saying: “My idol is Milan Skriniar: I was lucky enough to train together at Appiano Gentile, he helped me and explained many things. He’s a point of reference for me.”
