Inter forward Joaquin Correa feels that the Nerazzurri’s performance in a 0-1 friendly loss to Lens did not see them at their best, but that they can still use the rest of the preseason to grow and improve.

Speaking to beIN Sports after the match, the Argentine emphasized that the team must work over the next few weeks to get to a point where they are at a level where they can do justice to the Inter shirt.

Inter have now beaten Lugano 4-1, drawn 2-2 with Monaco, and lost 0-1 to Lens as they get on with their preseason schedule, with a friendly against Lyon next weekend the next item on their schedule.

The results are ultimately not too important, although the nature of the team’s flat performance to lose against Lens will be somewhat concerning for Correa and his teammates.

21 days are still left to go before Inter kick off their first match of competitive action of the season when they open their Serie A campaign against Lens, and during that time they will have to get back to their very best.

“We certainly didn’t have the best match, but this is the time to train and get prepared,” the forward said.

“We still have time to improve,” he added. “Inter is a massive club, we have a huge responsibility which is to win again this season.”

He concluded by stating, “Let’s take it step by step on our journey, and use the time that we have to improve.”
