Lazio should complete a deal to sign midfielder Matias Vecino in the next few days following the Uruguayan’s departure from Inter at the end of his contract last month.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reports on his homepage that the Biancocelesti will hold a meeting with Vecino and his representatives in the next few days and that this should be the one in which they wrap up his signing on a free transfer.

Lazio have been tracking Vecino for some time, with it having long been clear that the 30-year-old would not extend his stay at Inter past the end of his contract last month.

Coach Maurizio Sarri is a fan of the Uruguayan, having worked with him while in charge of Empoli, and has been pushing to sign him.

With Vecino’s deal with the Nerazzurri having expired at the end of last month, the capital club will be free to sign him whenever negotiations are completed, and this should come fairly soon.
