Inter left-back Dalbert could join his old club Nice on loan during the January transfer window after he recovers from a ligament injury.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the French side could snap up the Brazilian on an initial free loan in January.

Dalbert’s future was thrown very much up in the air after he suffered a serious ligament injury whilst training in Brazil earlier this month, as it will mean that a transfer to any club during the summer is out of the question.

The Nerazzurri had been hoping to offload the 28-year-old this summer for a fee to avoid a capital gains loss, as his current deal expires at the end of June 2023.

Unable to sell the player now, things could be moved to January based on the recovery timeline, and the formula for a deal could be a return to Nice on an initial loan with Inter receiving a percentage of future resale value.
