Inter have made keeping hold of Milan Skriniar and extending the director’s contract their goal for the summer transfer window.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera that this has become the main objective after losing out on Torino’s Bremer whilst the overall defensive strategy has become clear.

Skriniar had looked close to a big money sale to Paris Saint-Germain not long ago, but a combination of the Parisians stalling on the right offer to meet the Nerazzurri’s asking price and the shock of missing out on Bremer has changed the situation dramatically.

At this point, Inter have shifted their focus and the plan is now to secure the future of Milan Skriniar, a player around whom the entire defense can be built, and then make another signing, with Fiorentina’s Milenkovic always a target.

“After Juve successfully beat them to the signing of Bremer, and with the Parisians’ offer not up to par, the goal now is to keep Skriniar and extend his contract which expires next June,” Di Marzio write.

“Talks with his representative Sistici began well before this summer,” he continues, “and soon they’ll take flight.”

He continues by reporting that “The talks with Ramadani for Milenkovic have also been going on for a while, a meeting also took place last Tuesday.”

“But Fiorentina are asking for at least €20 million, and at the moment Marotta and Ausilio still do not have the go-ahead from the owners to make an investment in the next signing,” Di Marzio explains. “They must make sales first.”

“There’s no rush,” he continues. “Inzaghi wants a right-footed defender and for this reason the left-footed Zagadou was not made a target.”

“In attack, on the other hand, Sanchez has particular expectations and isn’t terribly interested in joining any of the teams to show interest so far, as they are evidently not at the forefront of the Chilean’s thinking.”
