Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has firmly turned his attention to the outgoing transfer market, with sales of Andrea Pinamonti and Valentino Lazaro needing to be done whilst the situation of Alexis Sanchez is yet to be dealt with.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri CEO will take the coming days to focus on offloading players to bring in transfer fees and reduce the wage bill.
Striker Pinamonti has no shortage of transfer interest, and selling him would both bring in a transfer fee and get his €2.2 million net per season wages off the books, whilst Lazaro earns €2.5 million net per season and has no place in the plans for next season.
Getting these two sales done will be of massive importance for the Nerazzurri’s goal of finishing the fiscal year ending in June 2023 with a €60 million net profit, whilst offloading Sanchez will be crucial purely to slashing the wage bill.
The Chilean’s €7 million net per season wages make him the highest earner currently at the club after Romelu Lukaku, and while he has so far dug in his heels and resisted the offer of leaving with severance pay, Marotta must get the situation resolved.
Meanwhile, young midfielder Lucien Agoume and striker Eddie Salcedo are also waiting at the exit door for Marotta and the club to sort out their futures, although their situations are not quite as outstanding as the others.
