Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is considering moving for another left-wingback this summer amid worries that Robin Gosens may not be a dependable option due to injuries.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri CEO is thinking about dipping into the market to ensure that the team’s left flank is covered.

Gosens’s quality is not in question and there is still total faith in the German to inherit Inter’s left flank from Ivan Perisic should he stay fit, but a number of minor problems following the long-term problem he was carrying when he signed from Atalanta have raised doubts.

A niggling muscular problem suffered in preseason is only the latest setback for the 28-year-old which is calling into question whether he can guarantee continuity at left-wingback, and for this reason Marotta is weighing up whether another player should be signed in the position.
