Young midfielder Cesare Casadei could stay at Inter and be part of the first team squad this season rather than moving away, despite transfer links to clubs including Torino.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri’s priority is to extend the 19-year-old’s contract until the end of June 2026 or 2027 one way or the other and that a stay cannot be ruled out.
There has been no shortage of transfer interest in Casadei following his excellent campaign with Inter’s Primavera team during the season just gone, with a number of clubs keen to loan the midfielder.
Casadei’s name had come up as part of the negotiations between Inter and Torino for defender Bremer, and the Granata could still be interested in his signature.
However, the 19-year-old does not necessarily have to leave Inter, and could have a role to play in the squad next season, while his presence in the squad could be useful for UEFA rules on homegrown players.
Casadei’s current contract with Inter runs until the end of June 2024, but the club are keen to extend it to the end of June 2026 or 2027.
