Offloading players like Andrea Pinamonti has become increasingly important to Inter this summer now that their plan is to not sell Milan Skriniar.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Nerazzurri are now strategizing around monetizing these sales to the highest degree without a big name sale in order to get their financial house in order.
Inter had went into the summer transfer window with the expectation being that they would sell a big name player in order to meet the financial goal of €60 million net profit during the window, and Skriniar emerged as the top candidate for a sale.
However, circumstances have meant that the will is now to keep hold of the 27-year-old, meaning that cash must come from other sources.
Dalbert cannot be sold this summer given his unexpected knee injury, but Pinamonti is a player with plenty of interest and there could also be a market for Lazaro.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri could have to spent around €8 million gross to see the back of Alexis Sanchez from their wage bill, whilst the situations of youngsters like striker Eddie Salcedo and midfielder Lucien Agoume.
Moreover, without selling Skriniar it is unlikely that there will be financial wiggle room for Inter to spend big on a defender, and they are likely to move for a low-cost option, with Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi always on their radar.
