Former Torino and Bari defender Massimo Brambati has claimed that current Inter President Steven Zhang is in talks to sell the club.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Brambati stated that he has been told by a source within the club that the current President is looking for a buyer as current owners Suning are no longer secure in their ownership.

Suning and the Zhang family have been linked with a sale of Inter for some time, although in all of the rumours of talks with different buyers the owners have sent clear signals that their stance was that they do not want to sell the club.

However, the financial tumult that has characterized Suning’s ownership of Inter in recent years has not gone away, and this summer has provided further tests for the Chinese company.

Zhang and Suning could very well decide to give up control of the Nerazzurri in the near future, and according to Brambati the President is in talks to do just that.

“An insider told me that Zhang is in talks to sell Inter,” the former defender stated.
