Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic is still Inter’s main target in defense, whilst Atalanta’s Merih Demiral is also in consideration.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri are still working on signing Milenkovic even though his €15 million price tag would not be completely straightforward for them.
Milenkovic has long been identified as one of Inter’s main targets in defense, and the 24-year-old would add strength in depth to the Nerazzurri’s backline as a replacement for Andrea Ranocchia.
That the Serb would recommend at bargain at €15 million is not in doubt, although the Nerazzurri would at least have to wait until completing a sale of Andrea Pinamonti to have the necessary liquidity to do so, whilst the €60 million net profit targeted by the end of the fiscal year gives them some doubts.
However, the talks are ongoing with both Fiorentina and with Milenkovic’s agent Fali Ramadani, as the Nerazzurri continue to see Milenkovic as a major target.
Meanwhile, Demiral would be another alternative for the defense, although they would have to work out a valuation for a deal with Atalanta, with some form of swap deal not entirely off the table.
