Inter would be interested in signing Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, but only as a replacement for Milan Skriniar to complete their first-choice back three and not as a depth option.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the Nerazzurri see the €20 million price tag for the 24-year-old as too high for a player who would only be brought in to complete the defensive option rather than be the first-choice starter in his position.
Inter have made no secret of the fact that they consider Milenkovic a target, but Fiorentina could hold out for €20 million for the Serb.
Given their financial situation, the Nerazzurri would see this as an excessive expenditure in the event that all three members of their regular back three from last season are to stay.
In the event that Skriniar is to depart the situation would be different as Milenkovic could be seen as a solid option to replace him and ensure that the regular backline remains strong, but if the Slovakian stays then they would be reluctant to invest in him.
