Inter defender Zinho Vanheusden is pleased to have made the move to Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar on loan officially.

Speaking to the Dutch team’s official social media channel, via FCInter1908, the 22-year-old gave his thoughts on joining on loan and expressed the view that he is at the right club for this point in his career

Vanheusden spent last season on loan with Genoa, where despite showing flashes of his quality and proving that he can fit in in Serie A, injuries meant that he was not able to make as much of a contribution as he would have wanted, and the Grifone were relegated.

Now, the Belgian makes the switch to the Eredivisie, where he will hope to regain his momentum with regular playing time.

For his part, Vanhesuden is pleased with AZ as a destination, and feels that the Dutch side and their ambitions are a good fit with where he is at in his own career.

“I’m super happy,” he said. “I’ve been waiting for a few weeks, but being here with my family now makes me very calm.”

He added that “I can’t wait to get started. Contact with AZ started a few months ago I feel a lot of faith that AZ are the right team for me.”
