Chelsea could turn their attention to Inter defender Milan Skriniar now that they look increasingly set to lose the race for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde to Barcelona.
This according to UK news outlet The Guardian, who report that the 27-year-old is one of the main players on Chelsea’s radar to strengthen in defense as an alternative to Kounde.
Chelsea had been confident about wrapping up a deal for Kounde, but Barcelona have continued pushing for him and now look to be in pole position to bring the Frenchman in this summer.
With Kounde off to the Blaugranas, the Blues will still be looking to sign a defender to reinforce their backline after losing the likes of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger on free transfers.
Inter defender Skriniar could be one player who they turn to, whilst RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol and Bayern Munich duo Dayot Upamecano and Benjamin Pavard are also targets.
