Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti believes that Inter’s attack is an area in which they will have to rebuild in the coming transfer windows.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, Sconcerti noted that three out of Inter’s four forwards see their deals expire in the near future, and that this could mean having to spend on replacements.
Of Inter’s four main forwards for next season, Edin Dzeko looks to be the one with the least long-term future at the club as the Bosnian turns 36 next spring and sees his current contract expire at the end of the campaign.
Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku is only at the Nerazzurri on a season-long loan, and while reports have suggested that there is an agreement in place that the Belgians’s time will be extended beyond this, there is no formal guarantee.
Elsewhere in the squad Lautaro Martinez’s deal runs until the end of June 2026 and his compatriot Joaquin Correa sees his contract expire at the end of June 2025.
“Inter have three out of four forwards’ contracts expiring soon,” Sconcerti stated, “which means that they will likely have to spend a lot next summer to replace them.”
Regarding rumours of a sale of Inter by Suning, he said that “I don’t know anything but if Zhang gets the right offer, he sells.”
“The high debt also makes the asking price very high,” he continued. “Today, however, it is Americans who see an opportunity in football. Italian football is very attractive to them now, there’s no doubt of that.”
