Italian journalist Massimo Marianella feels that Inter are the team best-placed to win the Serie A title in the upcoming season.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Marianella gave the view that as things stand, it is the Nerazzurri’s Scudetto to lose, with Juventus the team just behind them.
Inter narrowly missed out on the Serie A last time around, having won it the season before, and this summer they have added several new signings to the team, not least the return of Romelu Lukaku.
The team can look at the promising performances they showed last season as well as the time they’ve had to prepare over the summer and the new additions, and think that they have a real shot at the title.
Reigning champions AC Milan as well as a Juventus team who have been very active in the transfer market and others will want to act as spoilers, but for Marianella it is Inter who are in the strongest position.
“At the moment it’s Inter who are in pole position,” he said, “and then there’s Juventus.”
