Paulo Dybala does not feel that he was let down by Inter or by Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta who were unable to sign him this summer despite reportedly strong interest.

Speaking in a press conference at his unveiling as a Roma player, as reported by FCInter1908, the 28-year-old stressed that he doesn’t feel a sense of betrayal that he did not join Inter this summer.

Inter had been pursuing Dybala since well before the summer transfer window opened, with the Argentine having really come onto their radar once it became clear that he would be leaving Juventus at the end of his contract.

A move had looked close, but other circumstances moved the Nerazzurri away from signing Dybala, namely the shock return of Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea which meant that there was little room left in the attacking positions.

This left Dybala looking for another club, eventually deciding upon Roma, but for his part the Argentine has no lingering bad feelings.

Asked if he felt betrayed by the Nerazzurri, Dybala responded “No not at all – ever since my contract with Juve ended, my agents talked to many teams.”

“I have a very positive relationship with Marotta who I’ve known for a long time,” he continued. “But no, not at all. I talked with a number of teams and then eventually Tiago Pinto came to Turin and that was that.”
