Former Inter, Torino, and Livorno defender Fabio Galante believes that the Nerazzurri have improved for next season with the addition of Romelu Lukaku.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Galante noted that with the Belgian’s return from Chelsea Inter have become a stronger team overall.

Lukaku had only been away from Inter for one season following his big money move to Chelsea last summer, and while his departure had not exactly left the Nerazzurri a significantly weaker side it had certainly shifted the balance.

Inter finished the season as top scorers in Serie A, but a lack of consistency over the season and tactical balance were blamed for their narrow failure to win the title ahead of city rivals AC Milan.

Now the Belgian is back, and he could well bring back those attributes which were missed last time around.

“Inter, with the return Lukaku who is a formidable signing in all ways, are even stronger,” Galante said.

Regarding the status of defender Milan Skriniar he said that “I have a nit of hope that he’ll stay because Bremer hasn’t arrived.”

Galante gave his prediction that “Maybe Inter are still the favourite, but Juventus are having a targeted transfer window which will give them solidity for next season.”

“Last year AC Milan did well,” he continued, “Inter came close to winning but had a few slip-ups and the Rossoneri took advantage.”
