Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin has provided an update on Inter striker Andrea Pinamonti, who still has his heart set on Atalanta even though Salernitana are to date the one club to have made an offer for him that the Nerazzurri have accepted.
Speaking to Italian broadcaster TeleLombardia, Biasin explained that for now the 23-year-old has not warmed up to Salernitana’s offer, as he is hoping to play under Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
Things are starting to heat up in the race for Pinamonti, but as of yet the 23-year-old is no closer to knowing where his future is.
If the striker were to be able to make the sole choice among the clubs interested in him, he would make the switch to Atalanta, whose sporting project and fit for him he sees as right.
However, it will remain to be seen if La Dea make an offer that can get a deal over the line with Inter.
“Pinamonti has no shortage of suitors,” Biasin pointed out. “Inter have an agreement with Salernitana for €20 million and a buyback option for Inter, but Pinamonti would like something different.”
“The truth is that Salernitana are the only team to have offered the money up front that Inter want, €20 million,” he continued. “The others have shied away from this amount, some have offered €15 million, made vague offers without an amount, and some have waited.”
Biasin noted “Pinamonti would like to go to Atalanta because he is convinced that playing Gasperini he could continue his growth, and I think in this respect he’s right.”
