Fiorentina are considering extending the contract of defender Nikola Milenkovic as Inter’s interest in him begins to cool.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, who report that the Nerazzurri are not ready to invest €20 million in the 24-year-old, and so La Viola are starting to think about securing his future.

Fiorentina would be willing to let Milenkovic leave this summer, particularly given that his current contract expires at the end of June 2023, but it would have to be for the right price.

Inter have marked the Serb out as a target, but the asking price for him looks to be about €20 million, and as long as their aim is to sign a low-cost defender to replace Andrea Ranocchia within the squad this would be seen as too much.

Accordingly, Fiorentina are starting to think about including Milenkovic in their plans for next season, and given that his current deal expires next summer the Tuscans would be ready to extend his contract.
