Inter have informed the representatives of defender Stefan de Vrij that they want to extend his contract.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri are aiming to extend the 30-year-old’s future alongside that of fellow defender Milan Skriniar, and they have contacted his representative to tell him as much.
As with Skriniar’s, de Vrij’s current deal is set to run out at the end of June 2023, and so if it is not extended then he could head into the final year of his contract in the upcoming season.
The Dutchman is thinking about his future, and could very well decide to play one more season in a Nerazzurri shirt and leave at the end of his deal as Ivan Perisic did.
However, the Nerazzurri have made clear that they hope to have him stay on beyond this, and are ready to sit down for contract extension talks, with the player currently earning €4.2 million net per season.
