Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi is still a low-cost option for Inter to improve the depth of their defence, according to a report in the Italian print media today.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Nerazzurri are still trying to work out how they will go into the season with six players who can play as centre-backs whilst still keeping the finances under control.
The fact that Milan Skriniar is set to stay at Inter means that they will not be getting a big windfall of cash. Therefore any new defender will have to be a cheap depth option rather than a starting defender.
That currently rules out the likes of Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic as he would cost around €20 million. Francesco Acerbi is known to want to leave Lazio and whilst his age means it is not a long-term signing, he does have a host of Serie A experience.
