Inter have been playing against tough teams in pre-season because Simone Inzaghi wants his squad to be as fit and sharp as possible, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, Simone Inzaghi wanted to push his team hard in pre-season because he knows that between August 13 and November 13, the Nerazzurri have got 21 competitive matches to play.

He needs to have the whole team at a fighting fit level and that is why everyone who is not injured has been getting a lot of minutes.

Inter have already played against Monaco and Lens and they will be taking on Lyon later this week. These three Ligue 1 sides have been opponents because their league starts on August 5 so they are further along in their preparations than Inter.

There is a training decision with Pro Sesto just 48 hours before the Lyon game in Cesena.
