The investment that Inter and AC Milan will be making into the new San Siro stadium will remain at €1.2 billion even though costs are rising, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Corriere della Sera, there has been an increase in the cost of construction materials recently but the amount that Inter and AC Milan need to invest in the project is still going to remain the same.

In the final project though, there will no longer be a hotel, the tower or part of the offices. Instead, the retail part will remain with shops, restaurants and bars.

The entertainment area with basketball, five-a-side football, table tennis courts and a gym will also remain.

In regard to the timing of the build, the hope ods that there will be serious movement after the public debate concludes.

The Sesto San Giovanni idea appears to have been shelved for now.
