Inter may need to start looking for a new shirt sponsor soon if DigitalBits are not able to resolve the missed payments issue, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, Inter could need to take some drastic steps very soon after it emerged that DigitalBits have been missing sponsorship payments.

The deal was signed last September and it is a four-year contract from which Inter should receive €85 million.

The missed payments do not affect the balance sheet for June 2022 but it is clear that if DigitalBits cannot come up with the money, Inter need to find a new main shirt sponsor.

In terms of whether DigitalBits can continue it is not encouraging that the Bitcoin they are linked to is now worth one-tenth of what it was when the contract with Inter was signed.

Inter still hope that the dispute can be ended swiftly without a full change.
