Inter goalkeeper Alex Cordaz has said that his job is to motivate the team and he is trying to get them interested in cycling, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with DAZN which was previewing Inter’s season, via L’Interista, the Italian explained that he has a certain role within the locker room which is more of a coaching role than one for on the pitch.

Since rejoining the club at the beginning of last season, the veteran goalkeeper has barely played at all but he signed a new contract recently to spend another year as part of the playing staff.

He says that his role in the team is to keep the team united and motivated to keep working and winning.

“The secret of a team is to have a strong core. There are less important roles in the locker room and this is mine: keeping the group united, motivating the group and making those who play less feel good.”

He then explained that as well as that, he has been trying to get the rest of the Nerazzurri interested in cycling.

“When we’re not on the pitch we watch the Tour de France: I’m trying to get the team interested in cycling.”
