Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has said that Inter are the furthest ahead of the big Serie A clubs because their transfer market is complete, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As was explained by Mario Sconcerti in his piece for Calciomercato.com, he is not expecting any major change at Inter between now and the end of the transfer window and that is why their market can be considered over.
He explained that they have strong depth although they will have to rebuild the attack soon which is a reference to the fact that Romelu Lukaku’s loan deal will end.
“Inter are the most ahead now because at least they are complete and have good reserves. They have possible gaps on the flanks and an attack to be remade in 10 months’ time.”
Inter have definitely addressed serious issues such as signing Andre Onana as competition in goal, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Kristjan Asllani for better depth in midfield, and Romelu Lukaku to bring more goals.
He then talked about the market in a more general sense and argued that it had been led by older players who are available on free transfers.
“In reality, up until now it has been a market of older players and at zero cost, which is not a technical limitation but one of perspective: take who is free, not who you choose. Juve and Roma have exaggerated a little: Di Maria and Pogba, then Dybala and Matic, perhaps Wijnaldum. Inter with Mkhitaryan and Lukaku.”
