Inter striker Edin Dzeko has left no doubts about his intention to stay at the club and try to make a significant contribution next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Bosnian has rejected all offers for a move away because he believes that he can have a big role to play even if he is behind Romelu Lukaku in the pecking order.

Dzeko’s campaign during the season just gone was a little bit of a mixed bag as he did experience some physical campaign and looked off the pace at times, but at the time chipped in with a not-inconsiderable 17 goals in Serie A as well as being decisive with his goals in the Champions League.

The 36-year-old has the technical ability and experience to play an important role in Simone Inzaghi’s system, as he showed last season.

This time around, Dzeko will have Lukaku to contend with for competition, as the coach is keen to throw himself into refashioning the team’s attack around the Belgian.

The Bosnian is well aware that he will not be first choice in attack as he was last season, but he still believes that he will have a real role to play.
