Former Roma midfielder Stefano Impallomeni has said that players do not want to leave Inter this summer as they think they can win the Scudetto, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with TMW Radio, via FCInter1908, Stefano Impallomeni spoke very highly of Inter’s chances of winning the Scudetto and suggested that that is why they have not seen key players responding to the interest in them from big European sides.

The likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Nicolo Barella, Milan Skriniar and Lautaro Martinez have all had interest from clubs that could pay them a lot more money than Inter in recent weeks and months but no one has been trying to make any of those moves happen.

“The players don’t want to leave because they know they can win the Scudetto.”

He also talked about how Inter do not need to always use wingbacks and Simone Inzaghi could try to experiment with other more central formations in the future.

“In football it’s not that you necessarily have to play with wingers. Inter can win in other ways and Inzaghi will also have to invent something, an alternative system to the 3-5-2. There’s a middle way, because you risk getting stuck in some games with the same module.”
