Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin has said that he would not be surprised if Lautaro Martinez did better this season than Romelu Lukaku for Inter, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking during an interview with the Calciomercato.com Twitch channel, via FCInter1908, the journalist explained that there was a lot of people who wrote Lautaro Martinez off last season and suggested that he should be sold by Inter this summer.

He thinks that the player could use all of that and his good form towards the end of the season as motivation to produce his best form next season which could see him score even more goals than Romelu Lukaku.

“He is very centralised about Inter and his growth. I don’t forget those who said to sell off Lautaro last year. There were those who said he was expendable with a light heart, in reality he has shown that he knows how to reject even these accusations.

“Next year he can do even better, I wouldn’t be surprised if he does even better than Lukaku.”

As is natural for strikers regardless of how good their personal relationship is, Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku will definitely be desperate to score more goals than each other next season. That will likely work in Inter’s favour.
