Chelsea are pushing to get deals done for Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries in addition to Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.
This according to UK news outlet The Athletic, who report that the pair are the Premier League club’s main transfer targets and that they are ready to push to sign both soon.
Dumfries’s name has already come up during talks between Inter and Chelsea for the loan return of Romelu Lukaku, at which point the Nerazzurri rebuffed the London-based club.
However, the Blues’ interest in Dumfries hasn’t waned, and the 26-year-old remains a serious target who they could step up their pursuit of, and according to The Athletic this is their plan.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s attention appears to have turned towards Leicester City defender Fofana as far as a defensive reinforcement goes, as they look to accelerate their pursuit of the 21-year-old in addition to Dumfries.
It will remain to be seen how Inter respond to the Blues’ increased interest in Dumfries.
