Former Inter defender Andrea Mandorlini was present at the unveiling of his longtime former teammate Riccardo Ferri as the new Club Manager at the Nerazzurri.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 62-year-old’s presence further solidified the historical connection inherent in Ferri’s appointment to his role.

Ferri has been appointed to the role of Club Manager at Inter, a position in which he’ll work with the squad and assist head coach Simone Inzaghi on the training pitch, while also acting as an intermediary between the club and the squad.

The legendary former defender’s strong association with the team is thought to make him suitable for the role of establishing continuity between the club at the boardroom level and on the pitch, and he will have a similar role to that of another Nerazzurri legend, Lele Oriali, under Antonio Conte.

Further cementing this impression was the presence of Mandorlini, who played alongside Ferri for seven seasons in Inter’s backline between 1984 and 1991 and won the Scudetto together with him, to welcome Ferri into his new role.
