Inter’s strategy for meeting their target of a €60 million net profit in the transfer market looks to be caught between making the bulk of it with one massive money sale, or offloading a couple of somewhat less valuable players.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri could consider either cashing in on one of their four most valuable players or try to recoup the money with sales of Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij or two similar players.

Inter’s four most valuable players are Milan Skriniar, Nicolo Barella, Lautaro Martinez, and Alessandro Bastoni, and these will be the four who will have been considered possible candidates for a massive money sale when the €60 million net profit target was set.

Skriniar has looked the closest of the quartet to an exit with Paris Saint-Germain particularly keen, but the Nerazzurri’s €70 million asking price for the Slovakian has never been met.

A sale of one of these four players could happen before the end of the fiscal year on June 30, 2023, but the club are also weighing up an alternate solution.

The transfer fees for de Vrij and Dumfries would not individually be enough to get to the amount that Inter need to bring in to reach their goals, but cumulatively the sale of two less valuable players could be enough.

The club are not yet set in one direction or the other, but see both options as viable routes forward to meet their goal.
