Italian journalist Maurizio Pistocchi believes that it is curious that despite the attention he is generating, young Inter midfielder Cesare Casadei has never featured in coach Simone Inzaghi’s first team plans yet.

Tweeting about the player, Pistocchi noted that the 19-year-old’s form has attracted the attention of numerous clubs in Italy and around Europe, yet Nerazzurri coach Inzaghi has yet to hand him any competitive playing time.

Casadei was one of the standout players of the Inter Primavera team’s excellent campaign during the season just gone, helping them to the Under-19 championship.

Despite the big role that he played for the Primavera side, the young midfielder did not feature at all for the senior team like a couple of his teammates.

Pistocchi wonders why this is the case, and sees a contradiction in the fact that so many clubs are keen on the 19-year-old while the coach of Inter’s senior team has not yet put his trust in him and given him an opportunity despite the fact that he is always able to.

He tweeted, “Cesare Casadei (born 2003) has many admirers – because he’s scored numerous goals (17) and combines technique with physicality (1.86 m in height).”
He adds, “But the real question is: why has Inzaghi never used him, even for five minutes, while Palermo, Torino, Sassuolo, and Chelsea all want to invest in him?”
