Striker Romelu Lukaku was Inter’s decisive player in yesterday evening’s 2-2 friendly draw with Lyon.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who note that even though the Belgian does not yet look to be in top form, he showed how influential he can be in the final third to help the team to come back from two goals down.
Lukaku has now been back at Inter for over a month, and the 29-year-old has been taking advantage of the preparation time as much as he can to get back into rhythm with his former teammates and learn the system of coach Simone Inzaghi.
The striker looked hungry and kickstarted the team’s comeback for a 2-2 draw with his header in yesterday’s match, and his performance suggested that he is on track to arrive at the start of the season fully prepared.
Meanwhile, defenders Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni were deemed by Tuttosport to have been below part, whilst coach Simone Inzaghi was given a solid appraisal for setting up a team that looks increasingly well-oiled with each friendly match.
