Inter have agreed a termination of the contract of forward Alexis Sanchez by mutual consent.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported in a tweet that an agreement has been found between the player and the 33-year-old’s agent on his departure.

Inter have been pushing for the exit of Sanchez for much of the summer, with the Chilean not in the plans for next season and one of the highest earners in the squad.

Up to now, they have not been able to convince him on a deal to leave with severance pay, as the player has wanted to wait until he decided upon a suitable next club before agreeing to depart.

However, with Marseille widely reported to be getting close to signing Sanchez, he has finally decided to leave the club, and his departure has been made official in a meeting today according to Di Marzio.

He tweeted that “Inter have terminated the contract of Alexis Sanchez.”
