Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is still waiting to get the best out of forward Joaquin Correa during the upcoming season.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 27-year-old’s best form has yet to really come out in preseason.

Inzaghi had a good working relationship with Correa during the pair’s three seasons together at Lazio, and it is for this reason that the Argentine was signed by Inter to bolster the attack following Romelu Lukaku’s departure for Chelsea last summer.

In his first season at Inter, Correa did not really look like the player he had for much of his time at the Biancocelesti, though his coach never lost faith in him.

Inzaghi still trusts Correa, but along with Edin Dzeko he will be a backup option to the returning Lukaku as well as Lautaro Martinez next season, with the coach hoping that he can finally find the right role in the team.
