Inter have raised their asking price for wingback Denzel Dumfries to €50 million, with coach Simone Inzaghi determined not to lose a key player so close to the start of the season.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri are determined to ward off the advances of big clubs from the Premier League as they do not want to have to scramble to change their plans for the upcoming season.

A sale of Dumfries cannot be considered to be entirely impossible, given that the Nerazzurri’s financial situation means that for a certain offer they would have their head turned.

However, the club have clarified their stance amid heavy interest in the Dutchman’s signature from big English teams, particularly Chelsea.

The size of the fee that it would take to make the Nerazzurri consider an offer for Dumfries would have to be over €50 million, as they have no intention of parting with an important player with little time to find a replacement.
