Inter striker Romelu Lukaku appears to be on course to find his best form just in time for the start of the Serie A season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the 29-year-old’s fitness and confidence have been increasing through the preseason and that he should be fully ready for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A opener against Lecce.

Less than two weeks are left to go before Inter open their account for what promises to be an intense and gruelling campaign on all fronts, travelling to Apulia to face newly-promoted Lecce.

Lukaku will want to immediately take this opportunity to announce himself after having pushed hard to return to Inter from Chelsea, and he has been working hard all preseason to do exactly this.

The Belgian’s performance against Lyon in the Nerazzurri’s most recent friendly was far from perfect and still saw some rust and hesitation, but the improvement has already been clear from each friendly to the next, and by the time he makes his competitive return the Belgian should have put any doubts behind him.
