Inter-owned wingback Valentino Lazaro has joined Torino on a season-long loan containing a purchase option.

This is confirmed by an announcement on the Granata’s official site, where they unveil the 26-year-old as their player for next season and confirm that there is an option to buy the player on a permanent basis.

Lazaro spent last season on loan with Benfica, having already been out on loan at the likes of Newcastle United and Borussia Monchengladbach since joining the Nerazzurri from Hertha Berlin during the summer of 2019.

A new club always looked all but inevitable for Lazaro during the upcoming season, with the Austrian having little role to play in the first team plans at Inter.

Lazaro had been linked with a permanent sale rather than another loan, but in the end it is Torino who have stepped forward with interest and brought him in on an initial loan deal, and the 26-year-old will look to establish a foothold in Serie A with Ivan Juric’s team.
