Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is aiming to have either a friendly match or a training match every three days in order to ramp up physical preparations for the upcoming season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri coach wants to make sure the entire squad has minutes in their legs with the new season less than two weeks away.

Inter held a training match against Serie C side Pergolettese yesterday, as part of the coach’s plan to alternate between friendly matches against top-level European opposition with training matches against lower-division sides.

The Nerazzurri have already participated in friendlies against the likes of Lugano, Monaco, Lens, and Lyon and have Villarreal on the way this weekend as their last friendly, but this is not deemed to be enough by the coach.

Inzaghi feels that with the somewhat truncated preseason period ahead of what promises to be a physically gruelling season, more is needed to get to full match fitness and so has emphasized the need for training matches.
